This seems to be the decade that time forgot, after the explosions of musical frustration during the 60's and 70's, the eighties seemed a bit more laid back and refined, I won't say the music was boring, but it became accepted by the masses, which could amount to the same thing? The music that was popular during this era, is now finally making some kind of a revival through the new electro pop indie bands. The huge interest surounding bands like Joy Division, New Order, Echo and the Bunnymen, as well as the human league, the cure, and Depech Mode, shows that there is still life in these old dogs yet?
While all this electro pop stuff was going on I forgot that there was a heavy metal revival that started in the early 80's as well, and lives on to this day, spawning bands such as Iorn Maiden, Thunder, Saxon, Motley Crue, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Whitesnake, and Guns and Roses, Rush, & Bon Jovi as well as others.
