Arcade Fire is an indie rock band based in Montreal, Quebec. Founded in 2003 by the husband and wife team Win Butler and Régine Chassagne, the band's work features lush, anthemic arrangements and diverse instrumentation, making use of a large collective membership. Their first release, Funeral made them one of the most critically acclaimed indie bands of 2004 and 2005. It was followed by the re-release of the band's debut EP on their American label, Merge Records, and in 2007 by a largely successful second album, Neon Bible.
